Stony Point High School is a high school in the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) in Round Rock, Texas, USA. It is the second newest of the five high schools in the RRISD. The principal is Anthony Watson, who previously served for eight years as the principal of Hopewell Middle School. The school houses the Health Science (previously Science and Medicine), Business and Industry, Public Services, STEM, and Visual and Performing Arts Academies. Stony Point has offered the International Baccalaureate since the school year of 2008-2009. Stony Point's feeder schools are Hernandez, Hopewell, and Walsh middle schools. == Academic and Fine Arts Recognition== In May 2013, Stony Point High School made the Newsweek list of top high schools with a placement of 1,694.〔http://www.newsweek.com/2013/05/06/america-s-best-high-schools.html〕 The rankings are based on the total number of Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) and/or Cambridge tests that were given at a school last May divided by the number of seniors graduating. The publications program at Stony Point has won numerous state and national awards for both newspaper and yearbook. In addition, several staff members have won top national awards as well. The Prowler newspaper and Touchstone yearbook, advised by Rebecca Plumley, have earned the Pacemaker Award from the National Scholastic Press Association and the Gold Crown from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
